Water Damage – A Homeowners Nightmare!
It is one of the worst things that can ever happen to a homeowner. I own a rental property that went a few months without a tenant. Those months were during the colder part of the year. As a cost-saving measure, the heat was kept at a low temperature. When a new tenant finally moved in, pipes burst and there were plumbing leaks all throughout the house. There was no toilet overflow, but we had to have carpets dry out.
The first story of the house had beautiful wood floors that received some water damage. Luckily, we heard about the latest drying technology to help with the wood floor restoration. Same day service helped with water removal and we were able to salvage quite a bit of the furniture. There was some water damage in the walls as well. It was not as bad as it could have been. We weren’t pumping water out of the house or anything, but just going through the ordeal was stressful. Once the water was cleaned up and most everything was dried out, we were able to get the tenant back into the home. Some of the remodeling and restoration is still ongoing, but I would not wish water damage to a home on anyone. I can’t imagine going through floods or huge storms that really do damage to a home. We were lucky.
